November 20, 2008: The Best Intentions

I had the best of intentions when I went to the library today. Two books I’d put on hold had come in, and I had eight books to bring back. I had a note to myself to take a look at The Oxford Encyclopedia of Saints, on the theory that it would indicate what the saints listed were patrons of.

It turned out the encyclopedia didn’t have that information readily available. In theory, I should have walked away, since one of the points of going to the library today was to reduce the number of books I have out.

But no. Instead I started poking around, and found four things that intrigued me:

I checked them all out, because I couldn’t resist them. Even though I didn’t make a real dent in the number of books I have out — I went from 28 books to 26 — I still managed to bring it down a little bit.

Now all I need is some time off for a serious bout of reading.

I think we ALL could use more time for reading 🙂 Those books sound fascinating.

Ok, NOW I’m going to go cook dinner (after satisfying the desires of two hungry cats *g*)

The cats, they will be demanding.

I’ll keep you posted on whether or not they live up to things.
