November 29, 2008: A Cure For the Blues

After work yesterday, I was amazingly cranky, so cranky everything irritated me. I could have written about it then, but I’ve had too many “I’m cranky today” posts, or at least that’s how it seemed to my crabby self yesterday.

So I crept off to bed at 7:30 and read for the next three-plus hours. I didn’t read Ink and Steel — I wasn’t in the mood for it. Instead, I pulled Richard Schickel’s The Men Who Made the Movies out from my pile of library books. Based on the interviews Schickel did for the PBS show of the same name, it was an interesting, if not particularly demanding, read. Fortunately, I wasn’t in the mood for anything that demanded too much of me — I just wanted to escape my own head for a while.

And I did.
