About me

My one-sentence twitter bio, developed under pressure, sums it up very well: Reader, writer, curious person.

My father was  a career Air Force officer, so, growing up, I went to 8 different schools and lived in three countries, and I was always aware of military hierarchies. That goes with the territory when you’re a military brat.

And then there’s this: I started reading history and biography when I was 10 years old and I haven’t stopped since.

When you put it all together, you get a sense of who I am, and how that feeds my writing.

I’m a genre writer living in the Northeast; the genres are fantasy and historical romance. I’ve had two historical romances published, both by Harlequin Historicals, and I’m currently working on a complicated fantasy involving a shapeshifting dragon, a woman who doesn’t yet know how unlike everyone else she is, and a religion just complicated enough to make striking a balance between being clear and avoiding infodump difficult. The current working title is Dragonfly. Still, everything I’ve written has involved different cultures and hierarchies, product of my upbringing.

Who we are always ends up on the page.

Sounds like Dragonfly’s going to be an interesting read when it comes out. The fact that fantasy is close to the only genre I read and that I love dragons is a huge plus. 😉

    Good luck!
